Sophia’s Las Vegas — Review

PERMANENTLY CLOSEDYour Prescription for Vegas Best Strip Clubs

Doc’s Last Check-Up of Sophia’s Las Vegas: JULY 7, 2024

RECENTLY SOLD AND RENAMED LAS VEGAS STRIP CLUB.  STILL A MUST MISS. NO WE WILL NOT TAKE YOU THERE.

CAN’T UNDERSTAND HOW THEY STAY OPEN…VIRTUALLY NO DANCERS OR CUSTOMERS…THE PLACE REEKS OF FAILURE AND MISERY. THEY SHOULD RE-BRAND AS A ZOMBIE APOCOLYPSE THEMED VENUE.

NOT RECOMMENDED AT THIS TIME DUE TO POOR QUALITY OF DANCERS AND VERY FEW DANCERS. SO FEW DANCERS AND CUSTOMERS I DON’T EXPECT SOPHIAS TO SURVIVE.

DOC’S DIAGNOSIS:

(*Explanation of Doc’s Diagnosis terms here)

The Management/Owners of OG (Olympic Garden) bought Sophia’s  closed OG and set up shop here.  So, this is OG, in a newer building, if you will.  OG was a Vegas Landmark for many years, and Sophia’s continues that tradition.

Sophia’s is a good place and very close to the center of the strip…not the best in town by far, but still a decent place, although I’d recommend Treasures, Scores, Hustler, Sapphire, Crazy Horse 3, and Spearmint Rhino over Sophias.  You might say, Sophia’s is plain, but consistent.

HOW OLYMPIC GARDEN (OG) BECAME SOPHIA’S

Perhaps the most interesting thing about Sophia’s is its history.  This building was originally Badda Bing strip club, which closed several years ago.  Then for a brief time it was a club called Privilege, then a night club which also failed.  In 2016 a young guy who came into some money thought he’d open a strip club in Vegas and live large.  He spent 6 months remodeling the building and then was open less than 4 months before going broke. (Even with a titty bar, you still need business sense.)  Meanwhile, OG (Olympic Garden Topless Cabaret) was a Las Vegas Landmark just North of the Stratosphere. The place is so old, it’s rumored George Washington got lap dances there. When Sophia’s suddenly closed after only 4 months, the owners of OG shut down OG, moved their whole operation to the Sophia’s building and re-opened keeping the Sophia’s name–all within 2 weeks of the Sophia’s closing.  The building is nicer, but the dancers and management are mostly the same. Oh, and sorry ladies and gay men–Sophia’s left the male stripper show back in the crusty old building that was OG.

LAYOUT & STAGES

Sophia’s is a two-story club.  There is a large central stage, two bars and a semi-private VIP area on the main floor.  The downstairs VIP is used for the 3 songs for $100 dances only.  Upstairs there is another VIP area for the 30 and 60 options as well as 7 private suites.  The suites are large enough for you and a couple of friends and 3-4 dancers.  All the suites have windows to view the entire club and curtains for privacy.

The main stage is low with lots of seats.  For those of you who remember, Badda Bing, this is a huge improvement if you like watching dancers up close and tipping them on stage. Drinks start at $15 and are less for locals.  The prices I listed above are my best guess based on conflicting information I received from 3 different dancers.  So, I’m certain Lap Dances are $20, or 3 songs for $100.  The other VIP prices are apparently still in flux.

SOPHIA’S IS A GOOD PLACE WITH HUGE FUTURE POTENTIAL

First, the lap dances I observed were very good.  High contact by both dancer and customer and enthusiasm from the dancers. Second, Sophia’s nice building and location mean this place has huge upside potential. I’d like to see them add some food since the building has a nice kitchen.  Third, they have recently added a significant number of high quality dancers.  This is a place you want to visit for a good time.

NO MALE DANCERS HERE

OG had a very popular Male stripper show in their upstairs show room. Since there is only one showroom here, I don’t expect that there will ever be a male revue.  The best choice for a male revue in Las Vegas is now the Kings of Hustler show.

I update this review weekly so check back.  And of course if you have questions or are ready to reserve your night at Sophia’s Las Vegas, contact us here or by phone
