HOW MUCH MONEY DO VEGAS STRIPPERS MAKE

How much money do Vegas strippers make?  They earn anywhere from $60,000 to $300,000 and the average Vegas stripper earns $100,000 to $120,000 a year.  If that satisfies your curiosity, then good.  If you’d like to know how I came up with these numbers, keep reading.

How Much Money Do Vegas Strippers Make

1 Dollar at a time, can add up quickly

How much money Vegas strippers make, really depends on the stripper.  Some make much more or less than others. Strippers also have high costs and expenses associated with their jobs. In this article, I break down what strippers earn in Las Vegas’ major strip clubs based on over 20 years experience. That experience includes helping strippers do their income taxes, dating and living with dancers, having many stripper friends, and some basic math and common sense.  Let’s get to it…

THE COMMON SENSE APPROACH BASED ON TOURISM NUMBERS AND BASIC MATH

The Las Vegas Visitors and Convention and Authority publishes an incredible amount of data and statistics on visitors to sin city.  From them we know…

  • There were 42 million visitors to Vegas in 2016
  • Historically the male to female ratio of visitors is 51% men & 49% women so I use 50/50.  That means 21 million men visited Las Vegas in 2016
  • 52% of men who visit Las Vegas go to a strip club while here,
  • So 10,920,000 male tourists visited Las Vegas strip clubs in 2016.

Now let’s do a little math

There are approximately 6,800 legally licensed exotic dancers in Las Vegas at any given time, but more than half of those work for escort agencies or are private strippers and not actually working in strip clubs.  Based on the physical dimensions of the 2 dozen or so strip clubs in Las Vegas if every club is at capacity every night, there are about 3,000 strippers dancing in Vegas. This includes the ones who travel here from other places to dance. So let’s use 3,500 for the number of strippers in Las Vegas

  • If each of the 10,920,000 male tourists visiting the strip clubs gets one lap dance at $20 they spent $218,400,000 on lap dances alone.
  • $218,400,000 in lap dances divided by 3,500 strippers means the average stripper in Vegas should earn a minimum of $62,400. This is even if each male tourist only buys an average of one $20 lap dance.  The fact is that the average customer spends more than this, but dancers have house fees, tips and etc. so I went with this low number.
  • This doesn’t include any income from locals.  This doesn’t account for any tips on stage or VIP room sales.  This doesn’t account for the fact that female tourists also go to Vegas strip clubs and spend money on strippers.

Simply 1 lap dance for every male tourist who goes to a Vegas strip club and the average dancer makes over $60,000 a year.

If you are a Vegas stripper reading this, and you aren’t making more than $60,000 a year, then you either aren’t really working or you shouldn’t be in the business.

In my experience, they make much more…

HOW MUCH VEGAS STRIPPERS MAKE BASED ON MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE

The numbers below are actual numbers based on my many years of experience with Las Vegas exotic dancers.  To maintain their anonymity, I am not giving the dancer’s actual name or stage name.  The earning numbers below are net income after all tips and house fees and before taxes–it costs lots of money to actually be a stripper.

Jessica was 38 and had been dancing for 15 years when we dated.  She lived with me 11 months and earned $67,470 dancing 1 or 2 nights a week during that 11 months.

Kay is a good friend and she and I often discuss investment strategies. She earns just over $200,000 a year working day shift at one of Vegas major strip clubs.  On her 30th birthday she had over a million dollars worth of various investment holdings.  She is smart enough to know she can’t strip forever and has used her money to build a great future and income for when she decides to quit stripping.

Michelle is long time friend and single mom with a day job and an ex-husband who doesn’t pay child support.  She only dances Friday and Saturday nights. She averages $1,200 a night or $2,400 a weekend which equates to over $100,000 a year working only part-time.

Sydney is a among the best looking strippers in Vegas.  Various news reports have documented that she earns $300,000 a year as a Vegas stripper, plus more money from modeling and being a ring girl at major boxing and MMA events.

Pam is a dancer and friend who moved to the US from Brazil.  She works the early shift from 4:00 PM until 11:00 or midnight 4 nights a week.  She spends most of her time in the club, smoking, or playing on her phone rather than actually working.  Additionally, Pam is below average in physical appearance compared to other dancers in her club. She earns a little over $50,000 a year

Angel–she hadn’t filed income taxes in 4 years when she asked me to help her get legal with the IRS.  I don’t know how much she earned in stage tips and cash because she hadn’t kept records. Based only on credit card payouts from the club, she made $70,000 a year from stripping. We documented another $60,000 a year in winnings from pole dancing competitions–yes some strippers travel to compete in pole dancing competitions. So she earned $130,000 a year plus cash from stage tips and lap dances. My best guess is her total income was around $200,000 a year.

Roxy is another friend who had me help her with income taxes.  She had been dancing 4 years and kept good records but had never filed. She averaged earning just over $180,000 a year.

Callie is a friend who stripped in Vegas before becoming a traveling stripper who tours in both the US and abroad. She made over $170,000 a year when dancing only in Vegas.

Daisy: We dated a short time and have been friends for 5 years.  She earns $120,000 a year working only 2 nights a week

Nikki and I dated casually for 6 months.  She says she averaged $72,000 a year from 2002-2005. She worked 4 days a week from 2:00 AM to 8:00 AM mostly doing bi-sexual shows with her girlfriend Amber. Nikki became religious quit stripping and bi-sexuality and moved to the “Bible Belt” in the Southeast part of the US where she is married and has 4 children under the age of 12.

Nichole is a long time acquaintance–We aren’t close enough for me to call her a good friend, but we see each other about once a month and have long talks about twice a year. She makes $100,000 a year at the strip club.  She would make much more as a stripper, but she has “regulars” who pay her $300 a night to spend time with them instead of going to the club. I’m afraid to ask her any more questions about that activity.

Legacy is 23 and dances at one of my favorite clubs in town.  She recently told me she earns $700-$1,500 a night and only works 4 nights a week. That equates to over $150,000 a year.  She is stunningly gorgeous and has an amazing personality which certainly helps. She saves more than 80% of her after tax income and is investing and planning to retire from stripping at age 30 and “live sensibly” on the earnings from her investments.

Michelle has a day job as a Realtor and makes extra money as a stripper.  When I’ve observed her in the club, she really doesn’t work–she mostly sits and complains about how slow things are in both stripping and real estate.  She makes over $30,000 a year as a stripper.

A FEW RANDOM THOUGHTS ON HOW MUCH MONEY VEGAS STRIPPERS MAKE

Occasionally, I hear strippers complain or read them complain in online forums that they only make $40,000-$50,000 per year.  I call bullshit on that for 2 reasons.

First: A Lap dance lasts 4 minutes on average plus 5 minutes to sell it and get dressed after. So, 3 lap dances an hour on average would be 27 minutes of dancing and 33 minutes of looking around, walking around, sitting, smoking, talking, playing on your phone and whatever else. $20 x 3 = $60 an hour x 6 hours = $240 in a day. I don’t know of any dancer who would like to average $240 a day. Yet, only $240 a day is $48,000 a year working 6 hours a day 4 days a week for a total of 24 hours a week. I don’t know of any dancer  in Las Vegas who actually works and averages less than $400 a day.

Second: Dancers from all over the world fly and drive to Vegas every week to strip here and then return home.  They are not flying in or driving in to Vegas every week for $40,000 or $50,000 year. Most strippers I know, drive really nice cars-actually most hot women in Vegas drive really nice cars.  The money for those cars comes from somewhere.

SO HOW MUCH MONEY DO LAS VEGAS STRIPPERS MAKE?

Based on both common sense and my years of experience a typical Vegas stripper earns just over $100,000 a year. The best strippers earn $200,000 to as much as $300,000 a year.  Women who either work part-time or just sit around the strip club, drinking, smoking and playing on their phones earn much less.

BUT STRIPPING ISN’T AN EASY JOB AND STRIPPERS HAVE HUGE EXPENSES SO BE SURE AND READ THESE OTHER POSTS TO GET THE WHOLE PICTURE.

That may be in Australia that some dancers make more than $300,000 US dollars a year. In the US and most of Europe the subject has been thoroughly researched and the results show very few dancers earn that much. After more than 30 years in the industry, I’ve only ever known one dancer who made more than that. She earns about $300,000 a year as a stripper and about that much more as a model and part time actress. I know many dancers and former dancers who make that type of money from their investments.
